The Ballet School of Stamford

The Ballet School of Stamford is a nonprofit dance education facility founded in 1998. Our commitment to encourage the creativity of children of all ages, while helping them achieve their goals in a focused and disciplined environment, remains strong. Our students continue to impress us with their devotion and artistry. We work with other educational institutions to ensure our outreach program “Dance for All” promotes cultural diversity in ballet. We currently provide $36,000 a year in scholarships. We believe that all students deserve excellent teachers.

Connecticut Ballet


Founded in 1981, Connecticut Ballet became the resident performing company at The Palace Theatre in 1986. The company presents only the highest-quality classical and contemporary ballet, and commissions exciting new works by today's choreographers. This innovative touring company has performed throughout New England, in addition to special appearances at the Lincoln Center Out-of-Doors Festival, New York's Riverside Dance Festival, Cape Cod Performing Arts Festival, and many other venues.

DanceFest

DanceFest is an annual Dance Festival designed for intermediate and advanced dance students aged 10-18 years who train at area dance schools in Westchester and Fairfield counties. Students participate in master classes taught by outstanding professionals in the dance world in seven different disciplines from Hip-Hop/Jazz/Funk to Ballet. School directors, teachers, and parents are invited to observe the classes. The festival culminates with the Student Festival Performance of original choreography performed on the HARMAN stage of the Palace Theatre.

Namaskaar Foundation

Namaskaar Foundation was formed in 1988 with a specific goal to promote, preserve and raise greater awareness and appreciation for the traditional performing arts and culture of India, among Indian and American friends, through a superior presentation of music, dance, and theatre from all regions of India.

World on Stage was the result of an initiative started in 1999 by the Namaskaar Foundation in its continued effort to build a new audience, and share and exchange the cultural heritage of the world by presentation of traditional music, dance and theatre productions from around the world. Through this initiative, more than 5,000 people, young and old alike, have had a chance to experience traditional music and dances from Africa, Bulgaria, China, Ecuador, India, Ireland, Japan, Korea, Mongolia, Philippines, Poland, Russia, Spain, and Ukraine for the first time in their lives.

Stamford Symphony

Widely recognized as the finest orchestra in Connecticut, the Stamford Symphony produces and presents a broad range of musical programs to the delight of music lovers of all ages. The resident orchestra at the Palace Theatre, this world-class symphony consists solely of professional union musicians from New York City and the surrounding areas.

Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic

Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic was founded by Salvatore Princiotti in 1960. After 53 years on the podium, Maestro Princiotti passed the baton this season to Christian Capocaccia, new music director and principal conductor of SYAP’s flagship orchestra Young Artists Philharmonic.  Invitations to perform at the New York World’s Fair, at the Rededication of the Statue of Liberty, in concert for President George H. W. Bush, in holiday concerts at Grand Central Terminal for AmeriCares, on two concert tours to Italy, and at Governor Dannel Malloy’s inauguration, reflect the high caliber of musicianship consistently represented by this exceptional orchestra.  Featuring young musicians selected by the audition process, SYAP Subscription Concerts at the Palace Theatre also feature Young People's Symphony, under the direction of Gloria Sinaguglia, and Young String Ensemble, conducted by Barbara DiFranco. SYAP also sponsors Young Artists and Young People’s Flute Choirs under the direction of Jessica Raposo, Young Artists and Young People’s Jazz Ensembles under the direction of Eirc Kung, as well as Young Artists Summer Jazz Workshop, the longest running summer jazz program in the tri-state area.  Need-based scholarships are available for all programs.
